My grandfather had this way about him, he wasn't a man of many words. He was more of a man of action... an engineer by trade. Anything he did had to make perfect sense to him.. If it didn't it was a no go. I never could understand how much a man that was so "black or white" could make such incredible food, it still baffles me to this day. I have several favorite dishes from him, thinking back on it I kinda think we shared a bond over food. My Superman made me a hot breakfast every, single, morning!!! But this ain't about those meals... it's about his tuna that I feel like I'm the only one that makes it like him! Now this is a recipe that would be hard to share because I make it fuckin thoughtlessly and it takes me back to my childhood EVERY. DAMN. TIME! All I really can say is that I stepped that thang up and made it into a melt on some whole grain bread that Pop-Pop wouldn't have ever fuckin let touch his lips with an heirloom tomato and a nice slice of Havarti!
Now I can tell you what's in it but I can't tell you how the hell to balance the flavors... Albacore white tuna in water, red onion, mayo, yellow mustard, sweet relish, boiled egg, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, a little old bay, and celery salt... Simple... but fuckin DELISH! Let me know if you try it!!!
P.S. Pop-Pop used celery seeds and regular salt but my ass converted that to celery salt, have you ever fuckin bit into one of those damn seeds?? Dem shits ain't normal!
